2026 Whitecoat Ceremony
The 2026 Whitecoat Ceremony will take place at 6pm on Wednesday 4 February 2026 in O’Reilly Hall.
The ceremony marks the transition from preclinical to clinical medical education and is a symbol of the professional responsibilities that students will assume throughout their clinical life. Students from UEM Stage 4 and GEM 2 will receive a white crested UCD coat from the School of Medicine at the ceremony.

UCD School of Medicine and St Vincent’s Healthcare Group (SVHG) would like to invite you and your students to attend our virtual series of talks titled ‘So you want to be a doctor?’ scheduled over two days. The event is designed for secondary school students in the senior cycle.
The event consists of a series of half-hour talks on Tuesday 10th and Thursday 12th February, presented by SVHG consultant specialists in sub-specialities spanning the breadth of Medicine e.g., general practice, anaesthesiology, pathology, microbiology, neurology, cardiology, obstetrics, ENT and various surgical specialties, all of whom are adjunct or full faculty of UCD School of Medicine.
These talks will be held via Zoom. A schedule of the talks, with the Zoom links to join, will be provided to all registered emails. Attendance of the live event is recommended as audience questions are facilitated.
