Congratulations to UCD School of Medicine’s

Board of the Adoption Authority of Ireland.
Minister for Children, Disability and Equality, Norma Foley, announced the new appointment of Associate Professor Valerie O’Brien alongside Mr John McDaid as Chairperson and four other Ordinary members, including Dr Sheila Greene, Ms Geraldine Keehan, Mr Colin Fallon and Dr Ciara O’Rafferty.
(opens in a new window)Minister Foley made the appointments following a selection process managed by PublicJobs and in accordance with the Government’s Guidelines on Appointments to State Boards.
(opens in a new window)The Adoption Authority of Ireland is responsible for ensuring the highest possible standards of adoption-related services throughout the lifelong adoption process, with the best interests of the child as its first and paramount consideration. Its key functions include regulatory and accreditation responsibilities, the provision of information, tracing and contact services, and the delivery of lifelong adoption supports.
