Project Title: BREASTech: Increasing Physical Activity in Breast Cancer Patients and Survivors Through Technology Enabled Care

Research Outline

Increasing physical activity in breast cancer patients and survivors through technology-enabled care looks at how technology and software can support the needs and requirements of breast cancer patients/survivors  while promoting recovery through supporting physical activity engagement. Whilst it is recognised that physical activity can improve patients and survivors overall functioning, through pain relief and tiredness reduction, and improve overall quality of life, it is often overlooked in those with breast cancer.

BREASTech believes that technology and software can be used to support breast cancer patients, particularly in the transition from in-hospital care to independent living within their communities. BREASTech is composed of three phases of research, all focused on stakeholders’ (breast cancer patients and survivors, health care professionals, informal carers) interests and requirements.
