The University Management Team (UMT) recently (2025) approved AI Governance Principles on the recommendation of a University Working Group on the Development, Governance and Management of AI. Currently approved and licensed AI tools include Google Gemini and Notebook LM. UCD IT Services now maintains an AI Services webpage listing tools that are approved for use with University data and support safe, responsible, and innovative use of AI. 

The University Management Team (UMT) Education Group approved the Faculty Guidelines for the Use of AI in Teaching and Learning. These guidelines "outline shared expectations for the appropriate, transparent and equitable use of AI in teaching practice, assessment design and student engagement."
