Congratulations to Professor Steven Loyal and Professor Thomas Grund

The UCD School of Sociology wishes to congratulate (opens in a new window)Professor Steven Loyal and (opens in a new window)Professor Thomas Grund who have both recently been promoted to Professor.
Steve and Thomas are both well-established faculty members at the UCD School of Sociology.
Steve's research interests cover migration, ethno-racial domination, social stratification, sociological theory, historical sociology, sociology of knowledge. He has published several books on immigration and sociological theory. He most recently published two books, Contemporary Sociological Theory and Classical Sociological Theory, with UCD Sociology colleague Siniša Malešević.
Thomas is interested in how social structures limit individuals' view of the world; how embeddedment in social networks affects individuals' behavior and relational choices; and how combined relational patterns lead to broader macro-level outcomes. Thomas has contributed heavily to the School's computational social sciences and social data analytics programmes.
