Study in UCD (For CDIC Students)

1.1 Study in Dublin: Stage 4 Civil Engineering Infrastructure 2023-2024

Introduction

This guide will explain the selection criteria and application procedures for CDIC students who wish to complete the final year of their degree at the UCD campus in Dublin. These criteria have been decided by CDIC in partnership with UCD Schools for Stage 4 students.

At the CDIC Joint Management Committee meeting it was agreed that up to 20% of Stage 3 students would be offered the opportunity to complete Stage 4 of their degree at UCD in the 2023/2024 academic year.

Requirements

  • If there are more applicants than the approved quota, students will be ranked based on their GPA (UCD). The calculation will be based on 50% Stage 2, 50% Stage 3 (Semester 1)
  • Must have a min. GPA of 3.08
  • Must have achieved a min. grade C+ in both Stage 2 English language modules
  • At the time of applying students should not be carrying any failed modules

Fees

Students will pay fees as international students at UCD. However, CDIC students will be awarded a scholarship against normal UCD non-EU undergraduate fees.

Non-EU Undergraduate Fees €27,720

CDIC Scholarship €7,000

Balance Paid by Student €20,720

This payment will be made directly to UCD.

Students will pay CHD fees to maintain their CHD registration and be eligible to be awarded a CHD degree. This fee will be 50% of the annual CDIC tuition fee. This fee payment will be made directly to CHD.

Application process

All applications should be made through the UCD online applications system, which will be open for CDIC students in February and remain open until 29th April 2022.

Please go here and select the course finder. Enter the major code according to your programme of study, as listed below:

  • BE Civil Engineering Infrastructure (NVS6)

As students of UCD, you do not need to set up a new account. Select the option to use an existing account and use your UCD student number as the username. Your password will be the same as you currently use to access UCD systems. Once you have logged in, your personal details and course choice should be automatically populated. Once you have checked all details, scroll down to the bottom of the page and click the green submit button. Your application should now be uploaded to the UCD system and you should receive an email in your UCD account to confirm this. A decision on your application will be made after the deadline listed above.

Student Visa & Immigration Information

You will require a visa in order to be able to travel to Ireland. Detailed information on the requirements and application process can be found on the Irish Embassy website in English and Chinese

1.2 Students taking Automotive Engineering: Stage 3 2023-2024
