International Day of Women and Girls in Science
Today, we celebrate the International Day of Women and Girls in Science and recognize the achievements of our female undergraduate, postgraduate, and alumni students who have chosen to pursue their careers at UCD.
We also want to acknowledge and thank our female lecturers for their dedication and the inspiration they provide to future chemistry professionals.
On this special day, we should also acknowledge the remarkable work of Marie Curie. Marie won two Nobel Prizes at a time when science was mainly male-dominated. She broke barriers and opened doors for many women to follow.
To all the young girls who imagine themselves as inventors, creators and chemists, don't stop dreaming! You can be the next scientist and contribute to incredible achievements in the world of science.
