BOC Gases Annual Graduate Research Awards

For almost 40 years (opens in a new window)BOC Gases Ireland Ltd has generously sponsored the annual award for best research project amongst 3rd and 4th year PhD students in UCD School of Chemistry.

The competition is announced each year and applications are submitted by interested and eligible PhD students before a deadline. Applications are comprised of a research project summary including research objectives, results achieved and list of publications. Copies of publications are also a key part of applications.

Each year a judging panel comprised of UCD School of Chemistry academics is convened. They work together to identify the best project or projects reading the submissions and meeting to discuss their decision on the winner(s).  The prize can be awarded to one student or jointly between a number of students.

The 2024/2025 BOC Gases Award was won jointly by Ruairi Crawford ((opens in a new window)Baumann Research Group) and Dominik Duleba ((opens in a new window)Johnson Research Group).
