CHEM50030 3rd Year PhD Presentations
Third Year PhD Presentations
PhD students in UCD School of Chemistry are required to take module CHEM50030 3rd Year Presentations in year 3 of their programme. This module is an essential component of PhD studies. Students must prepare an oral presentation of their research which they present at a symposium in May of their 3rd year. These presentations showcase the breadth and variety of research being undertaken by our PhD students and is an important day in the School's calendar. Traditionally, Trinity College Dublin has come together with UCD School of Chemistry for this event and it is hosted in alternate years in UCD or TCD.
UCD PhD Students & Academic Staff at the 2025 3rd Year Presentations reception
Presentations are assessed by academic staff from both Schools and prizes are awarded for the best presentations in each category. This symposium provides the opportunity for PhD students to present their research to an audience of their peers and academic staff. For some this will be their first opportunity to present at a conference and provides invaluable experience for these research students.
