Engagement in Sustainable Futures
Associate Professor Jennifer Symonds from the School of Education addresses how we can use the science of engagement and disengagement to promote people’s involvement in a sustainable future for our planet. She explains how (dis)engagement occurs across multiple levels of person, agency, task, and time; and how we can use this structure to inform effective interventions and strategies. In addition, Jennifer provides a preview of a multilevel engagement strategy that she recently designed for preventing marine plastics pollution.
