UCD Centre for Irish Towns
Dr. Orla Murphy (School of Architecture, Planning and Environmental Policy) and Dr. Philip Crowe (Architecture, Planning and Environmental Policy and Civil Engineering) provide an update on the nascent UCD Centre for Irish Towns (CfIT). CfIT is a trans-disciplinary centre for research and collaboration in UCD focused on the towns of the island of Ireland. CfIT is supported by the UCD Earth Institute Strategic Priority Support Mechanism (2019). Orla and Philip set out the motivations behind setting up the centre and the opportunities it presents; report on workshops that aim to build an all-island network of researchers; and give us a snapshot of current and future plans for the centre.
