The UCD Humanities Institute is a physical and conceptual space for research in the humanities. The HI is a working home to over forty postgraduate scholars, postdoctoral fellows and visiting scholars, and provides a meeting place for research events.

The institute is also a virtual community of over one hundred academic members from a wide variety of Schools in the UCD Colleges of Arts and Humanities, Social Sciences and Law, and Engineering and Architecture and UCD Research.
