'Reclaiming Modernism: How Eileen Gray, Sonia Delaunay, Lilly Reich, Otti Berger, Grete Reichardt and Margaret Leischner Redefined the Intersection of Architecture, Textiles and Fashion'

My doctoral research, 'Reclaiming Modernism: How Eileen Gray, Sonia Delaunay, Lilly Reich, Otti Berger, Grete Reichardt and Margaret Leischner Redefined the Intersection of Architecture, Textiles and Fashion,' examines how six pioneering women designers transformed textiles from private, feminised craft into public, industrial and aesthetic innovation. While textiles are often studied in relation to abstract art, my project foregrounds their functional and spatial impact: rugs, curtains and garments structured privacy, mediated sound, guided movement and shaped the sensory experience of interiors, making modernism habitable.
