TNH Migration Humanities Network

The Transnationalising the Humanities research strand is pleased to announce the establishment of the Migration Humanities Network.

Co-chaired by Tasneem Filaih and Dr Matthew Evans

The network seeks to not only approach migration as a diachronic, cross-cultural phenomenon involving movement, exchange, and encounters, but also to explore the intersection of migration with the arts and humanities, from literature and history to visual and material culture. Specifically, the network aims to:

  1.       Foster dialogue and collaboration among researchers examining the lived experience of   migration and its intersection with the arts and humanities through history, literature and visual culture.
  2.       To provide a research forum for colleagues to share, discuss, and develop ongoing research projects.
  3.       To cultivate a dynamic, interdisciplinary network that promotes collaboration and creative exchange, enhancing the visibility, scope and impact of migration research in the humanities.

We invite researchers whose work broadly engages with the theme of migration to join this new interdisciplinary initiative.

To kick things off, we will be holding a coffee morning at 11am on Wednesday January 28th 2026 in the Humanities Institute Seminar Room H204.
Come join us to meet other researchers working on migration and to chat over a coffee. All are welcome!
