The UCD School of Mathematics and Statistics is offering a number of funded PhD positions to study toward a PhD with our school from 1st September 2022. These positions are called Research Demonstratorships.
Our Graduate Research programmes (Masters by Research & PhD) provide you with the opportunity to engage in supervised research on a topic of current interest in one of the disciplines of the School. You should have a strong background and proven ability in the relevant discipline. If you are interested in pursuing this option we would advise you to familiarize yourself with the Research in the School and to contact prospective supervisors among the academic staff.
If you cannot secure funding for a PhD project, but have approval that an academic in our school will supervise your research, a 50% fee reduction can be provided if you agree to teach six hours per week of tutorials in the school per semester. You will also be paid for these tutorial duties.
You can find information on other sources of funding from UCD Graduate Studies
Applications for 2017 are now closed. Please check back in September 2017 for details of the 2018 call.
