Work undertaken by University College Dublin researchers will result in the creation of intellectual property (IP). This intellectual property can take many forms such as:
- Patentable inventions
- Biological materials
- Chemical compounds
For your research project may have received funding and this funding will normally come with terms and conditions on how project results are protected. In complying with the terms of the research contract and your obligations under the UCD Intellectual Property Policy and Procedures it is important that you are aware of the various ways that intellectual property can be protected.
