UCD Hosts All-Ireland Social Work Education and Research Forum

UCD School of Social Policy Social Work and Social Justice hosts this year's All-Ireland Social Work Education & Research Forum on the 19th and 20th of January. The annual event brings together social work educators and researchers from across the Island of Ireland and has been taking place for over 30 years. This year, approximately 40 social work academics will gather in UCD to discuss various social work research and education topics. All of the universities in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland that provide social work education will be represented - University of Ulster, Queens University Belfast, University College Cork, the National University of Ireland Galway, Trinity College Dublin and University College Dublin. Topics for discussion and debate include collective advocacy, practitioner research, interdisciplinary education and the experiences of marginalised students. The School looks forwarding to welcoming our colleagues from Cork, Galway, Belfast, Derry and indeed from down the road in Dublin city centre to our campus in Belfield this week. We look forward to robust debate and discussion and to ongoing collaboration with our social work colleagues into the future.
