Welcome to UCD Regional and Urban Planning – with a 50 year legacy of excellence in education and research and imprint on the development of the planning profession in Ireland and beyond. We offer a range of professional programmes at undergraduate and graduate level:

All programmes are internationally recognised and accredited by the Royal Town Planning Institute and the Irish Planning Institute. Our teaching programmes emphasise employability, with a focus on practice-based teaching, integrating research into the classroom, and equipping our students with leading edge skills and knowledge to make effective and innovative practitioners. We also have a vibrant and rigorous PhD programme.

UCD Regional and Urban Planning is an internationally renowned centre of excellence and contributor to the European and global educational and research agenda through its membership of the European Association of Schools of Planning (AESOP), NEURUS and Universitas 21. The academic staff operates within a research-intensive environment and are respected members of the Irish and international academic community. The staff have unrivalled links with planning and design practitioners across the globe, ensuring that our graduates have the skills and networks for career development. In 2016, we celebrate 50 years of Planning at UCD, making us the oldest and longest established planning programme in Ireland.
