Biosystems & Food Engineering is the application of engineering principles to the production, manufacture & processing of biological materials.
These include biosensors, enzymes, food products, advanced packaging systems and precision production & harvesting systems, while at the same time protecting the environment.
The School provides modules in achieving sustainable development and environmental protection by developing improved waste management techniques, and systems to protect air, soil and water quality.
The School’s interests are diverse and include food processing, agricultural production systems, renewable resources, biofuels and environmental protection.
