Climb Lyons Hill
To coincide with “Climb with Charlie”
Page updated 25 April 2022
On Saturday, April 2nd, UCD colleagues and their families are invited to climb Lyons Hill in support of the Climb with Charlie event to raise funds for the Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association and Pieta, Ireland’s national suicide prevention charity.
Lyons Hill is situated on UCD Lyons Farm, a 250 hectare teaching and research facility, located 25 kilometres west of Belfield, on the border between Co Dublin and Co Kildare.
The family friendly event will take place on Saturday 2 April with walkers setting off between 1 and 3 pm. . A circular walk of 3.4km will staring from the farmyard, go up Lyons Hill (90m increase in elevation), across the top of the hill, and return through the fields. Along the way there will be guides to point out interesting features. The walk can be done at your own pace and please make sure you have appropriate footwear and a jacket. In the farmyard, there will be an opportunity to see some lambs and calves and view the state-of-the-art rotary milking parlour in action during the afternoon milking (from 3pm).
