The Academy represents the world of Irish scholarship and learning internationally. The Geosciences and Geographical Sciences Committee represents the discipline of Geography at home and abroad.

2. The Transactions of the Institute of British Geographers

Professor Alun Jones has been invited to join the editorial board of the (opens in a new window)Transactions of the Institute of British Geographers (TGIB). The TIBG is a peer-reviewed academic journal published by Wiley-Blackwell on behalf of the Royal Geographical Society and is one of the most prestigious international journals with an impact factor of 2.77. It publishes only the highest quality geographical scholarship and is ranked 6th out of 77 journals in the category "Geography".
