Tobi obtained his PhD in Energy and Environment from the City University of Hong Kong in 2016. Before joining UCD School of Geography, Tobi worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Institute of Future Cities, the Chinese University of Hong Kong where he led several research projects broadly focusing on implementation strategies of nature-based solutions for climate-sensitive urban planning and design in high-density cities. These projects and others have led to the publication of 20 peer-reviewed articles in top rank international journals including Building and Environment, Energy and Buildings, Urban Forestry and Urban Greening, Renewable Energy, Journal of Environmental Management, and Urban Climate etc. Tobi has also presented over 10 papers in invited seminars and leading conferences. His research interest includes but are not limited to:(1) Development and utilization of nature-based solutions for urban climate mitigation and air quality improvement; (2) Understanding the feedback interaction among global climate change impacts, urban infrastructures and urban ecosystem;(3) Demystifying the human behavioural aspects of adopting and harnessing urban green infrastructure as sustainable solutions for heat-related climate change impacts; (4) Sustainable urban energy planning in a changing climate; and (5) Climate variability, regional climate and air quality modelling using GIS, remote sensing, numerical modelling and field measurement techniques. Tobi is delighted to join the school of Geography and contribute to our vision of shaping the future with GIS!
