On 22 October 2015, Dr David Nowak (US Forestry Service) gave a keynote lecture on "Five things you need to know about urban forests". The talk was part of a 2-day event being hosted by the School involving the four Dublin local authorities and other stakeholders related to the Dublin (opens in a new window)urban tree canopy project underway in the School. The lecture focused on the ecosystem services provided by trees in cities and the importance of understanding the interactions between nature and society, particularly in the urban setting.
