BA European Studies

European Studies students can apply to EU Options from the School of History listed below (EU Options, Priority for European Studies and Erasmus Open Places).

Please note that an exchange is not a mandatory component of the BA European Studies degree and there are limited places available.

Inside Europe

Students can only apply to destinations where the language of instruction matches their language of study at UCD in the following Schools:

Outside of Europe

For Outside of Europe (Non-EU Options), students are free to apply to any destination available within the College of Arts & Humanities listed below (Asia, Oceania, and Americas Options). It is your responsibility to ensure the university has appropriate modules on offer.

Priority Options for European Studies

Spaces at these institutions are open to both History and European Studies, but European Studies students will be given first priority for these spaces. If these spaces are not filled, these additional spaces can then be offered to History students. Please note these options are available for a semester only!

Spain

B2 Spanish required. A DIELE/SIELE language cert is compulsory and students will have to take on of these two exam options to be accepted. For further information consult the (opens in a new window)Universidad Complutenese de Madrid language requirements.

*You can't list a specific campus on your application and you won't receive confirmation of your campus until you have applied to UCEAP directly. 

*Students selected for Villanova will receive the McGuinn Scholarship, which pays for your travel, accommodation and study costs. Available for a semester only.
