Connecting Ideas, People and Opportunities Across India and Beyond

Our presence in Delhi reflects UCD’s commitment to South Asia; to foster collaboration, support student journeys, and amplify impact across the region and Ireland.

About the Centre

The UCD South Asia Global Centre, based in New Delhi, is one of five overseas UCD Global Centres. It anchors our work in one of the world’s fastest-growing regions for higher education. It serves as the University’s regional hub for long-term partnership building across academia, research, government, industry, civil society, and the community.

The Centre’s role is to facilitate engagement and catalyse collaboration — convening stakeholders, hosting events, and enabling strategic partnerships that advance UCD’s global ambitions. It provides on-the-ground support to prospective and current students, institutional and government partners, and alumni, while strengthening research and academic links across the region. The UCD South Asia Global Centre fosters conditions for impactful, sustainable partnership activities and student pathways between UCD and South Asia.

Our Growth Over 10 Years

Established over a decade ago, the UCD South Asia Global Centre has grown significantly to become one of UCD’s most active regional hubs. What began in 2014 with a team of two has expanded to a dynamic team of 12 professionals today, including a staff member based in Mumbai.

The Centre has played a pivotal role in connecting UCD with partners, institutions, and students across the region. In 2014, fewer than 100 South Asian students were enrolled at UCD. Today, more than 1,800 students from South Asia are studying at our Dublin campus, reflecting the Centre’s sustained engagement, support, and outreach over the last decade.

This growth underscores UCD’s long-term commitment to South Asia’s education and innovation priorities, and our dedication to deepening connections between Ireland and the region.

Watch our video on how UCD brings India and Ireland together through student journeys, global collaboration, and the South Asia connection. This video highlights experiences of students and alumni, showcasing UCD’s impact in the region.
