IEHG Mid-Year Town Hall 2019
IEHG’s mid-year Town Hall took place in the Catherine McAuley Lecture Theatre, Mater Hospital on Wednesday 15 May.
The afternoon was divided into two parts with the opening session focusing on the Group's planned submission in the forthcoming national competition to establish a Major Trauma Network for Ireland. The IEHG bid will focus on our capability to demonstrate national leadership in providing high value healthcare for our trauma patients, through the Mater and St Vincent’s, underpinned by our ongoing commitment to trauma research, medical education and training, advancing new innovations and formally twinning with internationally renowned trauma centres.
At our second session, speakers provided updates on the exciting work happening on VTE (Prof Fionnuala Ní Áinle), Genomics (Prof Owen Smith) and through our recently established Clinical Academic Directorate for Women’s Health & Children (Dr Rhona Mahony).
