Impact awards 2025 finalists

The School of Nursing, Midwifery and Health Systems was well represented at the UCD Research Impact Awards which took place on Wednesday 28th January, hosted by UCD Vice-President for Research, Innovation and Impact, Professor Kate Robson Brown. Speaking at the ceremony, UCD Vice-President for Research, Innovation and Impact Kate Robson Brown said:

“Congratulations to the winners and finalists of the UCD Research Impact Case Study Awards announced today! These awards recognise not only excellent research, but research that actively engages with society and delivers tangible benefits. These case studies demonstrate how UCD researchers are contributing to policy, practice, public understanding and knowledge in meaningful and lasting ways. 

I would also like to congratulate the winner and runners up of the new Images of Research Competition! The wealth of diverse images submitted for this initiative reflects the vibrant creativity of our community. Together, these competitions highlight UCD’s strategic commitment to engaged research, policy influence, and societal impact, reinforcing the university’s role as a leader in addressing global and local challenges through research."

2025 UCD Research Impact Case Studies

Congratulations to Associate Professor Aoife De Brún, on being a finalist of the 2025 UCD Research Impact Case Study Competition with the submission on ‘Improving quality and patient safety in our healthcare system’. Read more about Dr De Brún's submission here.

2025 UCD Images of Research

Congratulations to Dr Attracta Lafferty and Cielo Diez Grajales (PhD Candidate) on being shortlisted from 140 research images submitted to the Images of Research competition. 

The caption for their image was ‘A Stroll for the Soul’ and the image portrays two colleagues strolling through the beautiful UCD Woodlands during a ‘walk and talk’ lunchtime session, as part of CAREWELL’s eight-week wellbeing programme. View the image gallery here.
