Congratulations to the five UCD School of Nursing, Midwifery and Health Systems students who were awarded prizes for community volunteering activities in a special ceremony in early November.

Favour Ochonma from Co Meath emerged as the winner for her speech titled ‘From Hope to Prosperity: Celebrating the EU’s 50-Year Impact on Ireland and Beyond’.

Midwifery student Tegan Kavanagh wins Student Midwife Trailblazer and lecturer Mary Curtin is highly commended for Midwife Education Trailblazer.

Children’s and General Student Chloe Slevin is awarded the 2022 UCD President’s Award
Children’s and General Student Chloe Slevin is awarded the 2022 UCD President’s Award

Chloe was nominated by peers and staff for her contributions to student extracurricular activities, as well as her involvement in charitable fundraising. Chloe is a talented artist and has auctioned her works ensuring all proceeds went to charitable causes which demonstrates great philanthropy for an undergraduate student.

Dean of Nursing, Midwifery and Health Systems Receives 2024 NovaUCD Consultancy of the Year Award

Prof. Fiona Timmins was awarded a NovaUCD Consultancy of the Year Award for championing and delivering key consultancy projects which have a high level of national and international collaboration and impact that serve to increase the reputation of UCD.

UCD Registrar announces Dr. Sean P. Teeling as one of the 2023-25 Teaching and Academic Development Fellows

Dr. Teeling is appointed, along with seven other recipients by the UCD Registrar as a Teaching and Academic Development Fellow in a special ceremony held earlier this month.

Prof. Jonathan Drennan wins UCD 2023 Research Impact Award

Prof. Jonathan Drennan was recognised for his research, along with a team of collaborators at a special ceremony held by UCD Research. The safe staff nursing framework developed is now national policy helping patients safety and staff well-being.

The Irish Association for Nurses in Oncology (IANO) awarded Associate Professor Eileen Furlong a Lifetime Achievement Award for her dedication to cancer education and research at the 40th Anniversary Conference of the IANO in October 2022.

Dr. John Gilmore Awarded Fulbright HRB Health Impact Fellowship 2022-2023

Dr. John Gilmore, Assistant Professor in Nursing was awarded a Fulbright HRB Health Impact Fellowship 2022-2023 recently at a special award ceremony in the Iveagh House, Dublin.
