Our School

UCD School of Nursing, Midwifery and Health Systems has a long and proud tradition of providing high quality clinical and academic programmes for nurses and midwives. It is now a dynamic, interdisciplinary School unique internationally in having a cutting-edge health systems programme of research and education and nationally in the scale of its global engagement, its extensive network of health service partnerships and the number of faculty holding joint appointments. The School’s programmes are delivered in a friendly and collegial environment by expert faculty committed to excellence in education underpinned by research and scholarship. Our programmes emphasize clinical expertise, critical inquiry, leadership development, personal growth, communication, teamwork, interprofessional collaboration and lifelong learning. They prepare our students to be expert and compassionate clinicians, inspiring and supportive educators, cutting-edge researchers and dynamic, networked leaders.
