Appointment of Nick Miller as Adjunct Associate Professor
Former Irish Government Press Secretary Nick Miller has been appointed as Adjunct Associate Professor in the School of Politics and International Relations (SPIRe).
Nick has been working with the Centre for Democracy Research (CDR) in SPIRe since 2024, where he has organised panel discussions and contributed to lectures.
I’m really looking forward to drawing on my own experience in an academic setting at this pivotal time for geopolitics.
He is looking forward to continuing his work with the CDR, and establishing new partnerships with other schools in UCD, and beyond.

Nick’s professional experience straddles Irish, European and international politics.
As Government Press Secretary until 2024, Mr Miller led Government communications through much of Brexit and Covid. He also served as a Special Adviser to the Taoiseach on International Relations during this period.
Nick is currently working in Brussels as a speechwriter for the European Commission. He hopes to focus in particular on Irish politics and international affairs in the UCD role.
