Learning Abroad Guide

Rhythms of life in other countries can be different. Study-wise, you might need to adjust to the academic demands of a programme in another country. You might also find that the level of support you find in your home institution changes when you’re abroad. Your personal, academic, and emotional support systems may not be available in the same way as before.

Before starting your programme, think about who your supports are and who you can reach out to for a chat if you need it while abroad. Make sure to familiarise yourself with the support services in your new institution and in the new place you’re living.

Before going abroad, UCD students can avail of pre-departure webinars and information sessions run by UCD Global as well as your International Programme Managers and Exchange Coordinators who are based within your College.

UCD Global also has a lot of information for incoming international students under the Student Experience section of their website.
