On Thursday 22nd February, the UCD School of Geography will host the Global South Day with lectures and seminars by two distinguished guest speakers. (opens in a new window)Prof. Cathy McIlwaine (King’s College London) and (opens in a new window)Prof. Marcus Power (Durham University) will give lectures at the graduate seminar in the morning and seminar in the afternoon. Prof. McIlwaine will talk on Transnational feminist research across borders in the morning and Rethinking cities: slums and gender in the Global South in the afternoon, while Prof. Power will present on Geopolitics and development (morning) and China-Africa: a critical perspective (afternoon). 

Jonathan Kelly, a recent MSc graduate on Geographies of the Global South will give a temstimony during the lecture in the afternoon. The event is free to attend and students are highly encouraged to attend. The event flyer is pasted below for more information.
