Kris spoke to students about his new book with co-author Jo Williams, titled 'Interprofessional Perspectives of Mental Health Crisis: For Nurses, Health and the Helping Professions'. Kris and Jo's book began based on their experience working in practice and a broad participation of service providers in a module Kris delivered relating to crisis management. The text is about how different service providers e.g. police, A&E staff, GP's, Nurses, etc. can work collaboratively for the service user and their significant others.
Key takeaways included the value of enhancing Mental Health Nursing presence in primary care, challenging the ‘post-code’ lottery & extolling the virtue of kindness when meeting people in crisis.
