Fun had at the UCD Festival Teddy Bear Care Centre

On Saturday 10th June 2023, UCD welcome thousands of families and member so the local community to the Belfield campus for what was one of the biggest family day outs in the 2023 calendar. The UCD Festival is a fun-filled day and showcases the very best of UCD through performances, engaging talks, hands-on science, interactive exhibits and so much more. 

This year the School of Nursing, Midwifery and Health Systems partnered with the UCD School of Veterinary Medicine, Bloomfield Health Services and Linn Dara HSE CAMHS to bring to life the Teddy Bear Care Centre. This family friendly event strived to break the stigma of talking about mental health issues, emotions and demystifying the experience a child might have in a health setting like a hospital through play. 

Our volunteers and students thoroughly enjoyed the day and we look forward to welcoming back visitors to the UCD campus next year.
