Curriculum Outline

The slides below outline six stages of the module design process.  This page looks at stage four: "curriculum outline".

A curriculum outline is a summary of the module on one to three pages. This will include the rationale for the module, learning outcomes, teaching and learning activities, assessment, content, timetable and resources. If it is a new module, it can be both confirming and generative to discuss this with colleagues before completing the UCD Module Descriptor

The module descriptor is a public statement of your module design, assessment and content. It is important that this descriptor is clearly and completely articulated to allow students to make informed decisions when selecting modules. The module descriptor will be available to students on Brightspace. In addition to this it can be very helpful to students to produce a one page visual of how the key components of the module link together.
