An Déaglitríocht sna Mionteangacha

Tugadh tús áite i gcónaí do chruthú na litríochta mar chuid lárnach de chaomhnú na
mionteangacha agus de bhunú na féiniúlachta náisiúnta coitinne i measc chainteoirí na
mionteangacha. Bhíothas den tuairim ó laethanta luatha Athbheochan na mionteangacha gur
cheart béim mhór a chur ar litríocht na bpáistí go háirithe i measc cainteoirí, múinteoirí,
pleanálaithe agus caomhnóirí teanga. Le blianta beaga anuas, tá ardán acadúil agus scolártha
curtha ar fáil le staidéar a dhéanamh ar litríocht na bpáistí le cúrsaí fochéime agus iarchéime
curtha ar bun atá dírithe go hiomlán ar staidéar a dhéanamh ar litríocht na bpáistí.

Níl an oiread sin airde ar an déaglitríocht ná ar an litríocht d’aosaigh óga i measc an lucht
léinn agus níl an oiread sin machnaimh déanta ar an déaglitíocht i measc foilsitheoirí,
scríbhneoirí, léitheoirí, oideachasóirí ná tuismitheoirí. Is léir ó roinnt duaiseanna náisiúnta
leabhar, cuir i gcás, nach ndéantar an déaglitíocht agus litríocht do pháistí a dheighilt óna
chéile agus gur beag aitheantas agus ceiliúradh atá déanta ar an déaglitríocht dá bharr.

Is í aidhm na comhdhála seo, mar sin, na bearnaí seo a líonadh agus machnamh a dhéanamh
ar na cúiseanna a bhaineann leis an easpa staidéir ar léitheoirí na déaglitríochta sna
mionteangacha agus ar a gcuid spéiseanna, riachtanas agus leibhéil léitheoireachta.

Tabharfar scoláirí ó chúlraí agus ó dhisciplíní éagsúla le chéile ag an gcomhdháil seo le plé a
dhéanamh ar na bealaí ar tháinig an déaglitríocht chun cinn le tamall de bhlianta anuas.
Tabharfar cuireadh do scríbhneoirí na déaglitríochta freisin chun plé a dhéanamh ar a gcuid
saothar agus scríbhneoireachta.

Fáiltíonn coiste na comhdhála roimh mholtaí faoi bhun 250 focal do chainteanna 20 nóiméad,
roimh phainéil de thriúr, agus roimh fhóraim phlé. Iarraimid ort nóta beathaisnéise 50 focal a

Call for Papers

The creation of literature has always been considered a vital aspect in the preservation of
minority languages and in the formation of a collective national identity for minority
language speakers. Children’s literature has, therefore, been of great consideration amongst
minority language speakers, teachers, planners and advocates from the earliest days of
minority language revival. In recent years, the study of children’s literature has garnered
much deserved scholarly attention with undergraduate and postgraduate courses solely
focused on the study and discussion of children’s literature.

Teenage literature and young adult literature has, unfortunately, not had the same degree of
attention amongst scholars nor has it had the same amount of consideration amongst
publishers, writers, readers, educators and parents. Many national book awards have, for
example, failed to delineate children’s literature from teenage literature to the point where
literature for teenage readers has received little or no recognition or celebration. This
conference aims to bridge these gaps and consider the many reasons for the lack of focus on
minority language teenage readers and their reading needs, interests and levels.

This conference will bring together scholars from various linguistic backgrounds and
disciplines to discuss the ways in which teenage literature has emerged in recent years. The
conference will also invite writers of minority teenage literature themselves to discuss their
works and approaches.

Possible topics for papers can include but are not limited to:

• Teenage literature in translation
• Teenage literature written by teenagers
• Diversity in teenage literature
• The history of teenage literature
• Considerations of all genres of teenage literature including poetry, drama, short stories
  and novels
• Reading teenage literature for pleasure
• New approaches and pedagogies in teaching teenage literature
  
  
• The role of teenage literature in language planning
• Advertising teenage literature
• Film and television adaptations of teenage literature
• Teaching classic teenage literature

The organisers invite proposals of no more than 250 words for twenty-minute papers, or for
three-paper panels or discussion roundtables. Please also include a brief biographical sketch

deadline for submission is 1 December 2023.

Mae creu llenyddiaeth wedi wastad wedi cael ystyried yn agwedd holl bwysig wrth warchod
ieithoedd lleiafrifol ac wrth ffurfio hunaniaeth genedlaethol i siaradwyr ieithoedd lleiafrifol.
Yn sgil hyn, mae llenyddiaeth i blant wedi mynnu sylw siaradwyr ieithoedd lleiafrifol,
athrawon, cynllunwyr ac ymgyrchwyr ers dyddiau cynnar ymdrechion adfywio ieithoedd
lleiafrifol. Yn ystod yr ychydig flynyddoedd diwethaf, mae astudio llenyddiaeth i blant wedi
denu sylw ysgolheigaidd haeddiannol gyda chyrsiau israddedig ac ôl-raddedig yn
canolbwyntio’n llwyr ar astudio ac archwilio’r maes.

Yn anffodus, nid yw llenyddiaeth i bobl ifanc yn eu harddegau wedi cael yr un sylw ymhlith
ysgolheigion ac nid yw ychwaith wedi cael gymaint o sylw ymhlith cyhoeddwyr, llenorion,
darllenwyr, addysgwyr a rhieni. Mae llawer o wobrau llyfrau cenedlaethol, er enghraifft, wedi
methu gwahaniaethu’n glir rhwng llenyddiaeth i blant a llenyddiaeth i bobl ifanc yn eu
harddegau a chanlyniad hyn yn aml yw nad yw llenyddiaeth ar gyfer darllenwyr yn eu
harddegau wedi cael fawr ddim cydnabyddiaeth na’i ddathlu, os o gwbl. Nod y gynhadledd
hon, felly, yw llenwi’r bylchau hynny ac ystyried y rhesymau niferus dros y diffyg sylw a
roddwyd i ddarllenwyr ieithoedd lleiafrifol yn eu harddegau a'u hanghenion darllen, eu
diddordebau a'u lefelau.

Bydd y gynhadledd yn dod ag ysgolheigion o gefndiroedd a disgyblaethau ieithyddol
amrywiol at ei gilydd i drafod y ffyrdd y mae llenyddiaeth i bobl ifanc yn eu harddegau wedi
dod i’r amlwg yn y blynyddoedd diwethaf. Bydd y gynhadledd hefyd yn gwahodd awduron
sy’n ysgrifennu ar gyfer bobl ifanc yn eu harddegau i drafod eu gwaith a'u dulliau.
Gall pynciau posibl ar gyfer papurau gynnwys er nad ydynt yn gyfyngedig i:

• Cyfieithu llenyddiaeth i bobl ifanc yn eu harddegau
• Llenyddiaeth i bobl ifanc a gan bobl ifanc yn eu harddegau
• Amrywiaeth mewn llenyddiaeth pobl ifanc yn eu harddegau
• Hanes llenyddiaeth i bobl ifanc yn eu harddegau
  
  
• Ystyriaethau o bob genre o lenyddiaeth i bobl ifanc yn eu harddegau gan gynnwys barddoniaeth, drama, straeon byrion a nofelau
• Darllen er pleser ymhlith pobl ifanc yn eu harddegau
• Dulliau addysgu newydd wrth gyflwyno llenyddiaeth i bobl ifanc yn eu harddegau
• Rôl llenyddiaeth i bobl ifanc yn eu harddegau mewn cynllunio ieithyddol
• Hysbysebu llenyddiaeth pobl ifanc yn eu harddegau
• Addasiadau ffilm a theledu o lenyddiaeth i bobl ifanc yn eu harddegau
• Addysgu llenyddiaeth glasurol i bobl ifanc yn eu harddegau

Mae'r trefnwyr yn gwahodd cynigion o ddim mwy na 250 gair ar gyfer papurau ugain munud,
neu ar gyfer paneli tri phapur neu drafodaeth bwrdd crwn. Dylech hefyd gynnwys
