Professor Regina Uí Chollatáin is a Senior Professor, Principal and Dean of the UC
D College of Arts and Humanities, Chair of Modern Irish in the UCD School of Irish, Celtic Studies and Folklore, was the Head of School from 2015-2021. Regina was Vice-Principal / Director of the UCD College of Arts and Celtic Studies Graduate School (2014-15) and was appointed the first Head of Subject of Irish Studies in UCD from 2015-2019. She is the founder of UCD de Bhaldraithe Centre for Irish Language Scholarship (2008-) and Director from 2008-18. She is the Director and Initiator of the MA: Scríobh agus Cumarsáid na Gaeilge since 2006 and project coordinator of the first Irish language University based Journalist in Residence (2006-2009). Regina's UCD memberships include but are not limited to the UCD-OFM partnership committee, the UCD Publications Advisory Group, the UCD Decade of Commemorations University Committee and Foundation of the State Commemorative committee for Dec 2022, UCD Student Mapping Experience Steering Committee and the History of Media Centre.
Regina completed her PhD in the National University of Ireland, Maynooth (NUIM) and was awarded an IRCHSS scholarship and IRCHSS Archival Fieldwork Bursary for same. She was awarded the NUI Post Doctoral Fellowship in Léann na Gaeilge/ an Léann Ceilteach in 2003.
