Undergraduate Teaching Facilities

There are three floors of world-class dedicated teaching labs with in-built video projection facilities and adjacent auditoriums for pre-practical talks. We have designed these labs along with a new undergraduate curriculum aimed at transforming the first year undergraduate experience. For more advanced practicals, the labs are equipped to provide one extracted hood per student.

Other facilities include:

  • A fully equipped restaurant and coffee shop with seating for 350
  • A 250 seat public engagement/school’s outreach auditorium
  • Advanced Learning Environment rooms to educate students in developing team-work and communication skills
  • Balcony-mounted breakout ‘pods’ for small group discussion and problem solving
  • An electronic BlackBoard system for remote access to educational materials prior to attendance/participation in events
  • Dedicated secondary school student Outreach Labs (Discovery Suites) – students can be a “Chemist for a Day”
  • UCD Innovation Academy(Innovation Hub) where students at all levels learn about entrepreneurship and conversion of ideas into practical reality
