Alexandra Micu wins best paper at CERI-ITRN

Civil Engineering PhD student, Alexandra Micu, has won the CERI-ITRN2018 Conference Bridge Engineering Stream Research Student Competition for her paper, ‘Estimation of traffic load effects on Forth Road bridge using camera measurements’. Alexandra is working on the monitoring of how traffic congestion influences the weight of traffic on this long-span bridge (now closed) and ultimately how it affected bridge safety. The pictures show traffic on the bridge captured by her camera and Alexandra receiving her prize from Kieran Ruane of Cork Institute of Technology.
