UCD Summer Programmes

For more and more students, a Summer Programme abroad is an invaluable part of their education, exposing them to a new culture, new ideas and lasting experiences, which can lead to a new outlook on life.

Study at UCD Next Summer

For colleges wishing to take their students to overseas universities during the summer, the primary concern is to select a country and a city that offers maximum exposure to a different way of life, but in a safe, nurturing and secure environment, with excellent student housing for both study abroad and intern groups.

A Coastal City near the Countryside

University College Dublin is Ireland’s largest and most international university, perfect for Study Abroad tours. UCD is located on a modern campus in the heart of a leafy, residential area on Dublin’s Southside. It offers world-class academic, residential and sporting facilities. It is also within easy reach of Dublin's city centre (5km), a picturesque coastline and the magnificent Irish countryside, along with a host of cultural attractions.

Housing

Every guest sharing student housing at UCD enjoys the comfort and privacy of their own bedroom. Our summer accommodation consists of well-equipped 4-bedroom and 6-bedroom suites, with free WiFi throughout. Safety is a key priority, with 24/7 monitoring provided by our dedicated in-house security team. Dublin itself is also considered a very safe city by international standards, offering students peace of mind throughout their stay.

Engineering Lab Summer School

The UCD School of Chemical & Bioprocess Engineering runs a 4-week Unit Operations and Bioprocess Lab Summer School in June on UCD’s main Belfield campus in Dublin 4.

Health Sciences Summer School

The Health Sciences Summer School runs each year from the second week in June for a duration of either two or four weeks, depending on the courses that students choose to take.

International Sustainability Summer School (Relaunching 2027)

The UCD School of Biosystems and Food Engineering run a two-week Sustainability International Summer School. This programme is not running in 2026 but will relaunch in 2027.
