Irish/EU/UK and International (non-EU) Students

The definition of Irish/EU/UK and International (non-EU) applicant is based on fee assessment criteria. 

Please visit the fee assessment page to check your fee status and apply accordingly.

If you are eligible for EU fees* and applying for the first year of an undergraduate degree, you must apply via the Central Applications Office (CAO online at www.cao.ie.  

Application with state exams

Ireland (Leaving Certificate) 

  • The minimum entry requirements for Leaving Certificate students to Commerce are as follows:
  • O6/H7 in English, Irish, a third language, and two other recognised subjects
  • O2/H6 in Mathematics
  • CAO points 2025: 555 (Round 1)

Please note the UCD general entry requirements to full-time Level 8 degree programmes in UCD are a minimum of 2 H5 & 4 O6/H7 grades.

UK or EU

Access or Progression Pathway to UCD 

  • Open Learning Progression Pathway is a flexible module-based, part-time study pathway offered by UCD Access and Lifelong Learning (ALL).
  • The Quinn School have a number of places to offer to eligible HEAR and DARE applicants. 
  • If you are at least 23 years of age on the 1st January of the year you wish to enter; you can apply on the grounds of mature years
  • Students with the relevant QQI-FET Level 5 Award can apply for progression to Stage 1 of the Bachelor of Commerce on a competitive basis. 
  • It is possible to apply for admission to stage two of the Bachelor of Commerce on the basis of a Level 6 Higher Certificate or Level 7 Ordinary Degree.
