UCD Tennis had a fantastic showing at the Senior National Indoor Championships last week in Fitzwilliam, with our Ad Astra Academy athletes delivering exceptional performances in both singles and doubles events.
Aisling O’Connor Claims Singles Title
Aisling O’Connor, an UCD Ad Astra Elite Sport Scholar, won the Senior Ladies National Indoor Singles title, defeating Isabella Connor (Belfast) 6-3, 6-3 in a commanding final. Her skill, composure, and determination on court were highlights of the tournament, marking a major milestone in her impressive tennis career.
Doubles Glory for Aisling & Juliana
Aisling then teamed up with fellow UCD Ad Astra Elite Sport Scholar Juliana Carton to compete in the doubles event. The duo overcame Juliette O’Hanlon (UCD) and Cliona Walsh (TCD) in a thrilling final, winning 6-1, 6-4 to claim the Senior Ladies National Indoor Doubles title.
