Laptops in the Library

Please Note: UCD Wi-Fi has moved to eduroam

From Monday 19 January, 2026 UCD Wireless will no longer function anywhere within UCD. Please connect to eduroam, which will replace UCD Wireless. See below for instructions.

Wi-Fi in the Library

You can connect to Wi-Fi throughout all UCD Library buildings. Two networks are available:

  • eduroam (authenticated access)
  • UCD Guest

eduroam (recommended)

UCD Wireless Wi-Fi is being phased out across campus, and staff and students should now use eduroam for reliable access to UCD systems. eduroam is the primary Wi-Fi network on campus for staff and registered students. Once your device is set up, it will connect automatically whenever eduroam is available.

To connect:

  1. Select eduroam from your Wi-Fi list.
  2. Sign in using your UCD Connect username (e.g. username@ucdconnect.ie) and your password.

Step-by-step eduroam setup guides are available on the IT Services website.

UCD Guest

UCD Guest is an open service intended for visitors to UCD. UCD Guest is for basic internet access only and will not work for most UCD services, including Google (UCD account), Microsoft 365, InfoHub, Brightspace, or electronic resources that require UCD authentication.

A terms-of-use page may appear the first time you connect. If prompted, select Accept to continue.
