International Day of Persons with Disabilities

3 December 2022 International Day of Persons with Disabilities

Since it was proclaimed by the United Nations in 1992, the International Day of Persons with Disabilities has been observed annually on 3 December and the day aims at promoting a greater understanding of issues related to disability and to mobilise support for the dignity, rights and well-being of individuals with disabilities.

The theme for the 2022 observance of the day is “Transformative solutions for inclusive development: the role of innovation in fuelling an accessible and equitable world.”

On 15 December at 2pm a webinar was held in celebration of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, which saw the launch of the UCD Policy for the Employment of Persons with Disabilities.
