University for All Symposium 2024

We're excited to announce that this year's University for All Symposium will be on Thursday 23 May. The 2024 Symposium will celebrate and explore how Universal Design can be implemented & embedded in all facets of University life to enhance the student experience and belonging. It will showcase the value of the University for All Partnership Programmes, provide practical tips for building Universal Design capacity inside and outside the classroom. Partners from each of the three Partnerships will share their learnings on how to successfully employ Universal Design across different contexts and disciplines to provide an inclusive university experience. 

We're delighted to be joined by (opens in a new window)(opens in a new window)Sarah Diedro Jordao, an international expert in building diversity and inclusion capacity and accountability across institutions. Sarah will deliver this year's keynote address.

The symposium will see the official launch of the new national Digital Badge in Universal Design Beyond the Classroom, a vital cornerstone for expanding the Universal Design capacity of student support and engagement professionals.

Professor Colin Scott
Registrar and Deputy President UCD

Colin Scott currently serves as Registrar, Deputy President and Vice President for Academic Affairs at University College Dublin. He was initially appointed at UCD as Professor of EU Regulation & Governance in 2006 and subsequently held positions as Vice President for Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, Principal of UCD College of Social Sciences and Law, and Dean of Social Sciences and Dean of Law.

Sarah Diedro Jordão
Diversity, Equality, Inclusion & Belonging Expert

Sarah is a versatile consultant working on topics related to DEIB. The driving interests foundational to her work are social justice, intersectionality, as well as collective practices of solidarity. Among other things she served as an Intersectionality expert for the North-South Center of the Council of Europe, a moderator for the World Forum for Democracy and a podcast host for the European Greens.
