ENVB10010 Biological Recording and Data Management

Academic Year 2017/2018

This module will introduce students to the importance and need for biological recording and the role of various groups in that activity. It will elaborate on approaches to biological recording for a range of organism groups, the various types of data that can be collected and how it can be managed. Current initiatives in biological recording will be outlined. The students will also be given instruction in recording data in a scientifically acceptable manner including computer applications in use.
