LAW30380 English Land Law

Academic Year 2021/2022

The module provides a critical approach to English Land Law, focussing on ownership, use and development of land.

The module is designed to meet the requirements of the English Solicitor Regulatory Authority (SRA) in relation to Qualifying Law Degrees. It should be taken by students intending to qualify as solicitors under the old route to qualification. This is open to students who commenced their degrees before 1 September 2021.

For students starting Law degrees from September 2021, due to changes to the qualifying mechanisms of the SRA and the implementation of the Solicitor Qualifying Exam (SQE), it will no longer be necessary to take English Land Law to qualify as a solicitor under the English system.
