HEA Gender Equality Enhancement Fund 

The School of Economics has been awarded funding as part of the HEA Gender Equality Enhancement Fund. The project will be conducted by the Irish Society for Women in Economics.  The aim of the project is to “Increase the voice of women economists in the media and public discourse through training and promotion”. The project involves:

  • survey of women economistsand facilitated workshops to  elicit the barriers and potential solutions to increasing the voice and visibility of Irish women economists
  • series of trainingworkshops for 30 women economists focusing on translating technical expertise into media ready communications
  • Help build media profiles(audio, print, and social) of women economists in Ireland and a database of women economists for Women on Air and similar platforms.
  • Provide “in-studio” media trainingon topics such as how to participate as an accessible expert on a front-facing panel.
  • Collaborate with At the Margin podcastto run a series of 6 podcasts featuring women economists.
