Funder requirements for research data to be made available: managing and sharing research data

Please join us for our next Psychology Seminaron Thursday, October 22nd, at 1:00 PM on zoom, with a talk from Gail Birkbeck and Associate Professor Christine Linehan titled "Funder requirements for research data to be made available: managing and sharing research data".

Gail Birkbeck is a research psychologist working in the field of monitoring, evaluation, research, and learning. Formerly, Gail was Head of Strategic Learning and Evaluation at The Atlantic Philanthropies for 13 years where she was responsible for the design and implementation of the evaluation and learning strategy. Gail is currently the Research Data Coordinator on a HRB COVID-19 study: a global survey of caregivers’ perspectives of the impact of COVID-19 on caregivers and the people they support. She is also undertaking further studies in data management and the wider life of research data.

Christine Linehan is an Associate Professor with the UCD School of Psychology. Christine is Chair of the International Association for the Scientific Study of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities’ Comparative Policy and Practice Special Interest Group. In May 2020, Christine was awarded one the Irish Government’s COVID-19 Rapid Grants to conduct a global survey of caregivers’ perspectives of the impact of COVID-19 on caregivers and the people they support. The study team comprises 26 researchers in 19 countries. A key principle of the Rapid Grants is that the dataset be freely available in a data repository for other researchers to access.
