Directions from Dublin Airport

Dublin Airport is served by most major airlines (excluding Easyjet). Popular low-cost options are Aer Lingus and Ryanair. You can search for flights here (opens in a new window)https://www.skyscanner.net/

The quickest way to travel into Dublin city centre or to UCD from the airport is with the Aircoach ((opens in a new window)(opens in a new window)http://www.aircoach.ie).

Aircoach route 700 can take you directly to the city centre or UCD. The Aircoach operates throughout the night and the journey takes approximately 30 minutes to Dublin city centre and 45 minutes to UCD.

Tickets can be bought at the airport from the Aircoach stands outside Terminals 1 (Zone 2) and 2 (Zone 20) (€17 return) or can be bought in advance online (€15 return).

A taxi from Dublin Airport to UCD will cost approximately €35-40 and the journey takes around 30 minutes. There is a taxi rank at the airport. If you are taking a taxi from elsewhere in the city, the easiest way to call a taxi is via the FreeNow app (opens in a new window)(opens in a new window)https://free-now.com/ie/. You can hail a taxi, prebook, and pay in the app.

Getting to UCD from Dublin city centre

By bus: The UCD Belfield campus is served by a number of bus routes and the journey takes approximately 15 - 30 minutes (depending on traffic) from the city centre. From the city centre, services 39A (to UCD), 46A (direction Dun Laoghaire) and 145 (direction Ballywaltrim) serve the UCD Belfield campus. Please note that the 39A service enters UCD campus and the 46A and 145 services stop outside at the UCD flyover. The fare from the city centre is €2.60 (please note that you need exact change. Contactless payments are not accepted on Dublin Bus services). Cheaper fares (€2 per journey) are available if you use a Leap Card (available for purchase and top up at the airport and newsagents throughout the city), which is valid on Dublin Bus, local rail, and tram services. See (opens in a new window)www.dublinbus.ie and (opens in a new window)www.leapcard.ie for further information.

By car: Car parking for visitors on UCD campus is extremely limited during term time and we would not advise any delegates to drive to UCD, unless absolutely necessary. Further details about parking charges for visitors are available here (opens in a new window)http://ucdestates.ie/commuting/getting-here/driving/parking/parking-for-visitors/
